I want to make you aware of a transition that has taken place. I have accepted a full-time position with Pursuant as senior vice president for fundraising communications.
As many of you know, I’ve been working closely with RSI Stewardship for the past three years. The success that we’ve experienced caught the attention of the CEO who decided he wanted to take what I was doing with RSI and not only expand it but bring it across the entire Pursuant organization.
This was not a move I anticipated, but it became blatantly obvious that this was the next step I needed to take.
It takes a lot of audacity for an organization to claim it is going to “redefine fundraising,” but I believe Pursuant has the people, processes, and positioning to pull it off. I want to be part of the team that brings that dream into reality.
It is an odd thing, indeed, to make a decision like this when there was no indication of stress on my business. In fact, it has been an “up and to the right” growth line from the beginning.
So why would I give it up what I’m currently doing?
Because I never want to stop taking impossible challenges. That’s the only way I know how to grow.
If I’m honest, I went out on my own for two reasons:
- I was tired to people saying no to me.
- I saw an opporunity to do something that seemed like a pipe dream to most people.
Honestly, I didn’t know if my ideas would work. But they did. And these last four and a half years have taken me places I never would have dreamed.
I’m ready to take what I am doing to the next level. As part of Pursuant’s management group, I’m going to work closely with some of the most talent leaders I’ve ever met who have been places and are in spaces that possess a great deal of opportunity and potential.
This move isn’t a break in activities as much as it is a pivot.
Pursuant will help me continue to grow personally and professionally, present me with a whole new set of bigger and more complex challenges, and provide the opportunity to be part of a group of leaders who share my competitive desire to “win” by helping high-capacity leaders and organizations create the change they want to see take place in the world.
I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.
P.S. I’m going to maintain this site, but it is officially under construction. (You just can’t see it yet.) Give me a few weeks to re-tool, and I’ll be back up and running.
