Content marketing requires a different skill set from what many expect and look for from traditional marketing professionals. The nature of the work will eventually produce a new kind of marketer, one who understands how to navigate technology, messaging, business strategy, analytics, and the user experience.
Sound impossible? The truth is those expectations already exist for those in the content marketing space.
It’s like buying shoes one size bigger, knowing you’ll grow into them. They are functional but they’re not the most comfortable shoes…yet.
I definitely like the emerging phrase “hybrid marketer.” It accurately captures the multidisciplinary approach content marketing requires.
The content marketer of today – and the future – will
live THRIVE at the intersection of technology, communications, and marketing. All three must work together.
