Ever have one of those moments of clarity when you are talking through a complex issue? I had one of those moments while describing the changing climate of digital marketing: There are two things you can count on in the midst of all the chaos:

  1. Nothing will last forever.
  2. Everything will change.

No one knows where this marketing train is headed. New tools are introduced — it seems — daily. There is little chance of establishing “normal” because the second you stop looking for what’s next, you fall behind.

The biggest trap we can fall into (and I’m tempted just like you) is to become married to the tools and the process rather than keeping my focus on engaging people.

“Social Media” without “social” is just media.

Are you obsessed with tools and technology, or are you investing in a lasting asset…relationships with real people?
